MF DOOM

By Douglas Mirahmadi.

MF DOOM is a name many of you won't recognize but he has influenced many of the greatest mc of rap today. kanye west, Nas, Ghostface Killah, mos def are just a few of the artists influenced by MF DOOM. I think MF DOOM is one of the most lyrically capable emcees because of the way MF DOOM flows when rapping. It is incomparable to any other rapper i've heard and many rappers who try to copy his flow falls short. Rapping is all about rhymes, it's even in the definition of rap. Unlike most rappers he uses multi syllable rhyming phrases often rhyming entire lines or bars together. This is called a holorime something DOOM takes advantage of quiet often. He understand the power a rhyme to such an extent you could call it his super power. Before you know it your being hit with a killer punchline, double entendres, and clever wordplay. I don't know much about music but I can respect good rap artist and the way he flows when i hear it.

MF DOOM didn't just influence other rap artists but he has influenced me to. MF DOOM has influenced the way I listen to music. I used to listen to more mainstream rap but MF DOOM has changed the way i look and listen to music. I love rappers with that syncopated uneven phrasing where the sentences don't line up with the bars and you can't predict what he is saying next. The point of appreciating it is to see what the most clever human beings are capable of doing. If i ever saw DOOM in person I wouldn't hold back on appreciation of his work. MF DOOM isn't just a rapper but also is a master at producing beats and track for a vary of artists Including most of his songs. MF DOOM has five different personas most of them for every one of his albums, Viktor Vaughn, Madvillain, Danger DOOM, jjDOOM, and metal fingers when he is producing.

Getting to the main point of DOOMs image why he always wear a bright silver mask is because DOOM saw that rap had become more about the image of the rapper and less about the sound thus why he wears a mask. He feels the need for people to listen to what he is saying less than focusing on how he looks. He's even pushed this philosophy so far and had body doubles go play on his shows for him. To this day MF DOOM has produced 40 records and shows no signs of stopping. To me DOOM isn't just a artist but a huge inspiration to me and many others this is the exact reason i chose DOOM as my iconic artist. He's different from the rest of the rap industry and will be remembered as one of the most lyrically capable mcees.
